Modern cuisine is multinational, it knows no boundaries. Her motto could well be "Recipes of all countries, unite!". And most often we don’t even think about where we got this or that recipe from: it’s just written down in an old grandmother’s notebook, and we have known this dish since childhood.

Macaroni is a source of optimism

Pasta casseroles are good because:

  • they cook quickly;
  • do not require expensive products for their preparation;
  • By changing the recipe, you can adjust the calorie content of the dish.

In addition, pasta (like all carbohydrate products) contains tryptophan. This substance has the ability to improve mood. Therefore, nutritionists recommend including pasta casseroles in the diet for those women who can not maintain a strict diet: contrary to popular belief, pasta does not belong to high-calorie foods, 100 grams of this product is only 111 kilocalories. Less calories only in vegetables.

Pasta casseroles are certainly delicious, they can be cooked in a slow cooker, oven and just in a skillet. This dish is enjoyed by kids and adults, vegetarians and meat lovers.

The main rule for pasta casseroles is only quality products. It does not matter what it will be, spaghetti or horns, feathers or spirals - you only need to take pasta of the highest quality made from durum wheat. Cheap pasta in a casserole can just crawl into porridge - and we need the finished dish to be cut with a knife and put on plates.

How to build a casserole

The word “build” is quite applicable in this case, since almost all casseroles are layered constructions, and everyone can choose tasty “building materials” for their recipe as they wish.

What can be a part of pasta casserole, except, actually, pasta?

  • meat (minced meat);
  • sausages;
  • vegetables;
  • mushrooms;
  • cheese;
  • eggs
  • sour cream.

The last two products make up the casserole filling, and you need to sprinkle the cheese on the dish to get a golden crust. Although you can do without it, if you want to minimize calorie content or just don’t like cheese.

Meat and vegetables are often combined in pasta casseroles, this combination provides an excellent taste and a lot of vitamins in the dish.

Some housewives for the convenience of cooking casseroles take boiled meat and pass it through a meat grinder. This speeds up the cooking time and makes it easier to fry, because such stuffing does not stick together.
